A thread facelift is a safe and convenient alternative to traditional facelift surgery. Designed to be less invasive, it can reduce sagging around the cheeks, jawline, and neck more quickly and with much less risk and recovery time.
What Is a thread facelift?
A thread facelift is a convenient, less invasive alternative to traditional facelifts, designed for people experiencing early signs of aging, such as minor facial sagging. This innovative facelift procedure can be performed in just one or two hours, often with just skin numbing cream.
During a thread facelift, the surgeon places very fine threads under the skin with micro needles. These threads attach to the skin tissue and are then pulled back to lift and smooth the face.
Almost immediately, treated areas appear lifted, eliminating sagging and giving skin a fresh youthful appearance. Patients remain fully conscious during the procedure and they can approve the look of their thread lift while the I perform the procedure. Once under the skin, the threads ( or micro-filaments as I prefer to call them) become hidden within the skin layers itself. I prefer a technique to create a mesh of overlapping threads. This supports the skin structure while the threads stimulate skins natural collagen production. The resulting collagen with the increased blood flow result in plumper, firmer and healthier looking skin.
Candidates for thread lift
The best candidates for a thread facelift are in their 30s to 60s and have relatively good skin tone. Most are beginning to experience sagging in their face or neck but do not have excessively loose skin.
If signs of aging are early, a thread lift may be a good way to make cosmetic enhancements while avoiding a surgical facelift with potential scarring and other side effects.
Also thread facelift can be repeated several times unlike the traditional surgical facelift which can’t be repeated too often due to increased risk of scarring.
In my experience thread facelift gives very natural results compared to excessive skin stretching giving an un naturally taught facial expression that can be seen at times with traditional face lifts.
However I always explain to my patients that traditional surgical facelift remains the preferred option to get rid of excessive sagging skin especially in the neck region.
Average thread lift costs
Because it involves little or no anesthesia and is performed in a clinic, a thread lift costs much less than conventional facelift surgery.
In fact, the typical thread lift costs roughly half the price of a traditional facelift, depending on how many threads are used during the procedure.
